desert awakening

Arroe was pacing himself as he came to a desert filled with tropic of wild fresh vegetation of a beautiful scene.
since leaving his home from the abandoned church where he was raised from being an orphan the memory of "her" still haunted his mind, making him think he would hallucinate to to seeing her return.

"ghhh......Its too dry here....." arroe said aloud to himself as he reached for a water flask, tipping it up as nothing pours out. "nghhh..... again ....this is the second time ...."arroe sighed heavily rolling his eyes to no one.

he walked on for about a mile finding a small oasis where he could fill up his flask. when he got to the small water pool , bending down to fill it. Arroe peered into the crystal like water to see his reflection with somone with him.
"it .. cant be.... "he turned shaking his head in disbelief as he perched himself in a tree that was near by shading the area. "why cant i be normal like other people...."he sighed falling lightly into a sleep state.

Ru lazily cantered through the desert. He, after already having crossed the desert using the same path several times, knew basically where oasises, wells, and other "traveler friendly" areas were. Although his supply of water was getting low, he didn't worry; there was an oasis ahead, and less than a day away.

He took a sip of water and walked on, avoiding looking directly into the glare of the sun.

Ru was in good sight of the oasis now, when a thought hit him.

"Is there someone sleeping in that tree?" he thought alloud to himself quietly. "Nah. Probably a trick of the heat..."

However, as he arrived upon the oasis, an island of water on a sea of sand, he realized that, in fact, there was someone sleeping in the tree.

He was a tired looking someone, that's for sure, and from the look of his supplies, was perhaps not adequately prepared for this desert.

Ru decided that he might as well greet the person, asleep or not, as he took a rest under the larger trees.

"Hello, stranger," he said in a friendly voice. "Hope I'm not disturbing you."

He then knelt down by the water to refill his supply.

Arroe woke to a noise below him." hmm..mm who are you .....?" he answered with a tired look.
with vision blurred he didnt know whether it was a hallucination or wether it was real.

arroe was compelled to come down form the tree but came down anyway.".....you didnt disturb me but...."arroe winced as he faded his voice. arroe had his mind on other things when he was staring into space ignoring the other traveler.

Ru's question was answered with part of a sentence, but then the stranger seemed to stare off into space.

Ru waved a hand in front of his face. "Uh.... Did you get too much sun or something?"

arroe turned what little attention he paid to the other stranger bringing him back to reality, seeing a hand wave in front of his face. "uhh..sorry ... it's nothing.... if your gonna ask my name it's Arroe......"he sighed pulling at his belt with the sword attached to it as it swung from the movement, making a nonemotive face to his direction.

Ru shot him a quizzical look and wondered if this guy was cooked or not. He certainly seemed.... not dead, but certainly not lively. Sort of.... un-lively.

"Arroe, huh?" He said, attending to the resting he had been about to accomplish before and sitting under a tree. "Well, I'm Ru." He yawned, stretched, and leaned against the tree. "So... Where you headed?"

he stopped swinging his swordcase and sat down paying more attention than he did before.
"sooo...... Ru... why are you .... so interested in where i'm going?.....well since your wanting an answer im looking for someone...." Arroe turned making a pale expression towards Ru, as he tried to surpress the thought of "her" again.

" so ...where you, going?"arroe asked as he tried to hide the expression.

Ru listened to his broken words and noted that there was.... something, at least, going on in Arroe's head. So his brain's aren't cooked. Not to say they're not scrambled, but not cooked at the least.

"Me? I'm visiting someone." Ru answered somewhat truthfully. Long story short it was true, anyway. He shut his eyes and lounged against the tree trunk. All of a sudden, he thought he felt a rumbling.

"You feel that?" He asked. After all, there were occasionally sand worms about.

Arroe was sitting in the sand when something nudged him on the shoulder." feel what? i thought you tapped me on the shoulder?" he said in a monotone. Arroe stood up unsheathing his sword. no matter how hard arroe tried he stil couldnt get "her" off his mind.

Arroe hadnt been one to travel deserts since it was his first time leaving his now abandoned home, so naturally he didnt know anything about the wildlife that was around the area.
the ground under his feet bagan to shake violently , he stuck his sword into the sand for stability.

Arroe saw a giant come from beneath , as he backed up a little behind his sword.
" What the ..... what the hell is that thing...?" he screached above the winds that started to pick up.
" Heh... this ones all mine...."he made a slight smirk as he charged at the giant without Ru to back him up.

the sword had made only a small tiny scar inthe beasts skin.but once again Arroe was distracted by "her".
that lead to him being hit back by the giant. " Damn ...its no use..."arroe sat crouched with the sword.

Rul jumped out of the way when the giant sand worm came out of the ground and Arroe began to fight him. All his? thought Ru. All righty, then...

He watched Arroe smirk as he went into battle,slashing at the worm with his sword. However, something seemed to be on Arroe's mind other than the worm, and he was hit back by it.

"You all right?" Asked Ru, readying his enormous sword to help backup and took position to guard against the worm's attacks. It dove for them, but he used the awesome girth of the sword as a shield and looked back at Arroe. "If you still got your heart set on this kill, I'd suggest jumping back into the fight. Otherwise I might get it," he added with a playful grin, energized by the fight.

arroe took a glance over to Ru " yeah..."he stood up pulling the sword out of the sand. using his sword for leverage he jumped into the air above the giant worm, forming into a backflip , landing ontop of the worm with the sword glowing blue piercing the creatures body with a dark power flowing out of the blade.

Arroe felt the his footing become unsettled as he pulled the sword it slid down its side gettting stuck half way , making it so he was hanging from his with one hand." Damn....."he twiched his hand to pull himself onto a crouching stand position on his blade that was stuck in the side of the beast.

"hmmm ....it seems if the sword doesnt work i'll have to resort to this...." arroe said monotone with a cold stare at the creature. readying his hand he placed it on the creature's side feeling the gritty skin of it, then he moved his hand to cut it on part of the blade that was sticking out. feeling the sensation of the warm blood dripping from his hand he placed it back on the beast's side, creating a blood liike seal,forming darkness into the seal."hmph... that should do it..." arroe smirked as he held his bloody hand, pulling his sword out of the creature with his other, and pushing off with his feet , his back facing Ru flying backwards to where he was positioned. using his sword to brake his high speed fall, as it dragged in the sand making huge scars.

Arroe leaned on his sword looking at Ru."I think i just won this round..."he smirked flipping his hair with his fingers, seeming like he was bored.

Ru nodded in approval of his new acquanitence. He leaned on his sword and immediately an idea of how to add interest into the dull crossing of the desert.

"Is that a challenge I hear?" He asked casually.

"what if it is ..." he remarked childishly. As he returned his blade to its sheathe, he stood up dusting himself off. " i just need to do something for a sec...."arroe winced from feeling the after effects of the blood seal he used to kill the creature in the fight, bringing him to his knees, blood staining his clothing where it was visible.

" why is it happening so soon.... " he grimaced with pain.

Ru was about to retort to said challenge when Arroe dropped to his knees. Ru stepped out of his casual lean, taking a step towards him.

"... did you get hurt in that fight?" He asked, concerned. "I know some healing..."

arroe didnt say anything but showed Ru the blood seal on his hand that dripped over his clothing, as he pulled his sheathe off his belt sticking it in the ground to support his back. "......."arroe soon felt a wave of pain flashed through him, making him look like he was in a near death state. the pain was worse in his mind when the only thing he could think of was "her" again.

Ru didn't quite know what was going on, but the blood on Arroe's hand seemed to be in some significant shape. Maybe I can still help....

"Hold on, I'll heal you," he said, making his sword stick upright in the sand and leaving it there. Not knowing if there was any specific area to heal, he cast a general healing spell, hands placed on Arroe's shoulders.

"IS this helping?"

Arroe looked at Ru with a plae face showing no emotion. arroe had ignored what he said, but was muttering something out that Ru could hear."where are you.....who are you...?" arroe stared at his hand at the seeming
seal that had formed during the fight, his eyes turned cold when he had that thought again, then clenched his hand into a fist, as he was being healed by Ru.

Ru didn't get a response to his question, only muttering questions that seemed to be directed at no one. Ru finished healing anyway, although he didn't even know if it was really helping.

He removed his hands rom Arroe's shoulders and knelt on the ground, looking Arroe in the eye.

"Did that help...?" This guy's odd....

arroe stared Ru in the eyes without flinching or even moving at that matter, but calmly gave an answer." ....yeah.....I'm fine......Dammit ...heh... Guess I overdid it...." arroe sat there running his blody hand through his sliver and black hair as some of the blood wiped off leaving streaks of red in the silver hair parts, when he flipped his hair from over his one eye that was not visible before.

" I appreciate your help..."arroe said sheepishly.

Ru shrugged. "Hey, it would have been unfriendly to not help and I'm a friendly guy." He paused, stood and walked over to his sword.

"So.... feeling up to that challenge or not?"

Arroe stood up holding his hand to his side as he reached for his sword, attaching the sheathe back to the belt.
he walked over to wher Ru was standing with his sword, putting his hand on Ru 's shoulder"we'll save that for later... I dont feel up for it at the moment...."he said as he halfly sustained his walking speed when he stopped to rinse his bloody hand in the small oasis not making any obvious reactions to the burning sensation in his hand.

arroe stood waiting at the oasis ,as he made several glances in the pool of water, each looking away in disgust at himself. he thought he was having another hallucination when he heard a voice. I pity what you've become...but I... arroe seemed to ignore the voice haunting him, but still couldnt get rid of the image of "her" out of his mind. arroe had not noticed that he was yelling."Why ..Do you Pity Me..!!!!!....Tell me ...An answer!!!" his mind was at a breaking point when he stopped of exaustion, just sitting waiting for Ru.

Ru watched Arroe go and wash his hand in the water, and nodded when he said he didn't feel up at it. He was about to go lounge against his claimed tree and start up some random conversation when he heard Arroe start yelling.

This guy really is off his rocker... he thought. Then added. but then again, who isn't now adays?

He got up and walked over to Arroe.

"Are you.... all right?" he asked hesitantly.

arroe looked at Ru " do I look alright to you?...of course im not ok...I just cant get "her" off my mind...."
his mental stability was already broken ,causing him to pass out ,that and dehydration form being out in the sun too long. arroe just couldnt take it anymore and had been worn down from the events. his body fell limp in the sand .

Ru gave him a funny look after he passed out. "Her?" he muttered under his breath. What could that mean? He shook his head, decided not to worry about it, and maybe he'd ask Arroe about it if he seemd more apt at speaking when he woke up.

Speaking of which....

He didn't look too good, passed out on the sand. Ru figured at least part of it (and maybe some of his behaviour) was, in fact, the heat. He picked Arroe up and brought him under the shade of one of the trees. After another thought hit, he got a simple pot he had in his bag and filed it with water, carefully (as to not shock him awake) got Arroe's clothes wet to cool him down.

Then he went back to his respective lounging tree and fell asleep.

arroe had been sleeping for what had been quite a longtime, but awoke feeling his clothes wet, and to seeing different surroundings from where he had passed out. arroe sat up scratchinghis wet hair and shaking it dry.
he looked around to see Ru at another tree sleeping.Did he carry me over here...? and why am I all wet? arroe thought to himself. arroe was now cold from his wet clothing, pulling his wet under shirt , over vest off ,he hung them over a tree branch to dry as he layed against the tree with his bare skin that looked pale. and stared at Ru with an indescribable look.
